Developing a new habit takes 30 to 60 days of regular practice…
DO IT!
You were participant in the workshop Brain and Mindmapping. But if you want to become an expert Mindmapper, that is not enough. It is all about applying the 3-P principle…
Practice, Practice, Practice. Just DO it!
Start with an easy application that suits you best before using it for difficult applications. Build up your confidence. Give your brain the chance to build new pathways to form a new habit.
Also try to use the qualities of the right hemisphere. Combine the left and the right and enhance the capacity of your brain by 5 or more!
- Use IMAGES to bring your message across or to summarize information
- Use COLOR to organize or highlight information.
- Use MUSIC or RYTHM for better memory and recall. Use Baroquemusic to influence your brainwaves (alpha state) (60bpm, harmonious, instrumental) For downloading a list of the right pieces of Baroque Music click here.
- Use DAYDREAMING (idle time) for consolidating memory and new ideas
MINDMAPS
Below you will find the mindmap of the workshop and the mindmap of the rules of mindmapping. Download and print them. Compare them with your own mindmaps, correct them and add information. It will help you to retain even more of this workshop. (more than the lousy 20% of the ebbinghauscurve)
Software
If you want information about mindmappingsoftware, check my linkspage for an overview. A lot of programs have a limited time of free use. So plan this wisely to have enough time to try the different options. I advise AYOA developed by the company of Tony Buzan, the inventor of Mindmapping. It is very easy to use and has enough freedom to make whatever you want.
Wish you succes with Mindmapping!
